What’s the difference between frameless and face-frame cabinets?
Face-frame cabinets generally have a ¾” thick and 1 ½” wide front panel that provides stability to the cabinets. As a result, the sides are usually only ½” thick and the backs (if any) are ¼” thick so that there is often a need to add internal bracing pieces to give structural integrity. Cabinets 2000 only manufactures European-style frameless cabinets with at least 5/8” material so that the strength of the cabinet comes from all the five sides of the box. The net result is a stronger box with greater interior storage space and a cleaner, aesthetic look.

Cabinets 2000 sells directly to new homebuilders in Southern California as well as directly through our factory showroom in Norwalk. We are also establishing a dealer network in the Southwestern United States.
Cabinets 2000 produces semi-custom cabinetry which is the best level for most buyers, and in fact is what most people buy. Here’s how the three types differ:
- In contrast to stock cabinets, every Cabinets 2000 kitchen is custom-designed and manufactured for a specific customer and not pulled from inventories like a stock cabinet is. This gives you much more control and many more design options.
- Cabinets 2000’s semi-custom cabinets are manufactured to consistent, precise and tightly monitored standards. Custom cabinets can vary significantly, be hard to price accurately and can be very expensive.
