Frequently Asked Questions
1. What’s the difference between frameless and face-frame cabinets?
Face-frame cabinets generally have a ¾” thick and 1 ½” wide front panel that provides stability to the cabinets. As a result, the sides are usually only ½” thick and the backs (if any) are ¼” thick so that there is often a need to add internal bracing pieces to give structural integrity. Cabinets 2000 only manufactures European-style frameless cabinets with at least 5/8” material so that the strength of the cabinet comes from all the five sides of the box. The net result is a stronger box with greater interior storage space and a cleaner, aesthetic look.
